Perth charity, Community Mates, has entered into a binding agreement to acquire not-for-profit organisation Useful Inc and it’s subsidiary Big Help Mob.

Under the agreement, Community Mates will acquire team members and assets from the organisations. The merger is said to get more people volunteering and will enable more charities to be supported.

Community Mates’ founder Chris Evans said, “This is an amazing development for the sector, volunteers and the charities we support. I cannot express how exciting this initiative is for Community Mates, Useful Inc and Big Help Mob, and how significant the impact will be in Australia.”

“By uniting the teams, capabilities and the three strong brands of Useful Inc, Big Help Mob and Community Mates we now have a volunteer powerhouse to support volunteers and charities.”

Sara Culverhouse, Chair of Useful Inc, said the agreement was a great chance for two major Australian volunteering organisations to unite to help support charities across Australia.

“Useful Inc is thrilled to join forces with Community Mates. We’re excited to see how our strengths can combine to improve how we connect volunteers to worthy causes,” Culverhouse said.
