New centre aims to grow ethical leadership in Australia

Today Australia welcomes its newest centre for ethical leadership.

The Cranlana Programme – an initiative of the Myer Foundation – and the Vincent Fairfax Fellowship – an initiative of the Vincent Fairfax Ethics in Leadership Foundation – have today united under the banner of the Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership.

Both the Fellowship (previously aligned with Ormond College at the University of Melbourne) and the Programme were established over 25 years ago and have provided some of the country’s most senior leaders with the ethical reasoning required to understand the competing moral frameworks that can be brought to bear in difficult decision-making.

The Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership creates an expanded and considered ethics offer.

Designed to prepare leaders for an increasingly complex and uncertain future, the Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership will continue to work with executives from the public, private and not-for-profit sectors in order to develop the moral courage required to lead for the good of their businesses and society more broadly.

The Centre will continue to offer leadership engagement opportunities to suit a range of needs and learning styles, from two-day industry specific Symposia or six-day immersive Executive Colloquia to twelve-month Vincent Fairfax Fellowship experiences.

The Cranlana Programme Foundation and Vincent Fairfax Ethics in Leadership Foundation are delighted to be working together, highlighting the fundamental importance of ethics, integrity and courage in leadership.

Angus White, Chair of the Vincent Fairfax Ethics in Leadership Foundation, anticipates the new Centre will magnify the efforts of both organisations. “Ethical leadership is integral to navigating the growing complexities of our society and is fundamental for it to thrive.
