PROJECT FUTURES, a charity helping those affected by human trafficking and sex slavery, has named Jo Maloney as its new CEO.
Maloney will commence in her role on the 1st of April, 2019. Maloney brings more than 14 years’ experience working across private, non-profit and government sectors to bring about positive social change.
Through sharing her skills in fundraising, partnerships and communications, Maloney hopes to raise awareness of women and girls affected by sex slavery in Cambodia, and mobilise efforts to support their recovery.
Her roles with The Smith Family, World Vision Australia and the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet have provided her with a strong understanding of disadvantage and social issues affecting women and girls, both domestically and on the international stage.
“I feel very privileged to be appointed to the role of CEO of an organisation that provides such vital and critical support to some of the most perpetrated and vulnerable women and girls in the world,” she said.
“In this role I hope to continue the momentum and build on the hard work of our dedicated partners and supporters to lift these women out of devastating circumstances and empower them to lead happier and healthier lives.
“My initial focus in this role will be meeting with our partners, supporters and beneficiaries, both here and in Cambodia. These are relationships that our outgoing CEO Clare Pearson has done an incredible job of developing and nurturing.”
