The program offers grants to not-for-profit (NFP) organisations, research institutions and PhD scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 per organisation.
Since inception, the Foundation has conducted seven funding rounds awarding almost $2 million to fund 98 projects nationally.
auDA’s CEO Chris Disspain identifies the Foundation’s grants program as a catalyst to enhance the utility of the internet to benefit the Australian community.
“Our contribution to the NFP community is to provide grants which focus on improving access to the internet for disadvantaged groups, and regional, rural and remote communities,” says Disspain.
“The auDA Foundation grant recipients include NFP organisations from a diverse range of sectors. Last year’s grant recipients are working on projects aimed at assisting seniors, children, youth, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, people with disabilities, Indigenous people and the health and education sectors.”
With the aid of funding from the auDA Foundation grants program, BrainLink Services developed a website navigation tool called Service Finder. This allows individuals to search online for region specific acquired brain injury community services.
This tool provides individuals affected by acquired brain injuries, and their families, to better research services. It also assists health professionals in providing location specific referrals. With the induction of Service Finder, over 200 services were updated and added to BrainLink’s database.
